Community Programs & Partnerships

EIEI reaches thousands of children through our education programs. EIEI partners with communities to create safe and stimulating preschool and K-12 environments and support a child’s education at home. EIEI also works with national and local governments to improve access to education.

Pre-K Counts Lead Agency From 2021

The Education Institute for Early Intervention has been awarded Lead Agency for three early childhood programs in Philadelphia from The Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) for 2021-22. EIEI was awarded slots for the 2022-23 school year and will support six childcare programs in Delaware and Philadelphia counties.

Social Emotional Development Curriculum for Early Childcare Programs 2021-23

EIEI is excited to launch the Social Emotional Learning Program with a pilot of early childhood programs. This course is rooted in social-emotional learning (SEL) that helps transform childcare facilities into supportive, successful learning environments uniquely equipped to help children thrive. Programs learn what social-emotional learning, executive function, and self-regulation are and why it’s essential in childcare. Implementing this practice increases children’s school readiness and social success and decreases problem behaviors. It does this by building children’s self-regulation skills and social-emotional competence. We are excited about launching this program and look forward to the results.

Suspension and Expulsion “Warm Line”

EIEI warm line is a service to childcare providers who need a caring and sympathetic listener about children with challenging behaviors in their childcare program. EIEI friendly line is an alternative way of accessing support and services non-threatening or punitively. The warm line is run by “peers,” generally those who have had their own experiences of operating a childcare program. Unlike other coaches in ECE, a warm line operator is unlikely to call the state on an owner or provider because they are unsure how to support a child or family. The warm line helps providers keep the lines of communication open through conversations, not advice or lectures. EIEI’s warmlines offer understanding, respectful, and supportive discussions to providers. The warm line will also refer you to other avenues of help and support.

Inclusion Coaches & Advisors

EIEI Trainers play a crucial role in coaching ECE programs in Early Childhood Specia Education. EIEI seeks a creative coach/mentor to implement our effective evidence-based programs to educate the ECE field on how to service more families needing support in the Early Intervention Systems.

National Association for Family Childcare Accreditation (NAFCC)

The Education Institute for Early Intervention (EIEI) has been awarded a grant from First Up as a sub-grantee and partnered with the Family Child Care Advisory Council to train and assist providers in achieving national accreditation. The Pennsylvania State Representative’s goal is to increase the number of family or group (in-home) providers across the state to become nationally accredited. The goal is to have 300 family early learning programs become NAFCC accredited across the state. National accreditation of family child care within the State of Pennsylvania remains the highest priority.

K-12 Partnerships

EIEI provides parent and community training to K-12 schools. EIEI works alongside principals and Parent/Teacher Associations. EIEI assists schools in identifying and prioritizing the school’s needs, engaging stakeholders, leveraging resources, and coordinating with service providers to offer on-site programming and support to students and families at the school.
